30
celebrate Bruce's birthday and the end of another fantastic SYS sailing
Odyssey.
The Collis trophy for 'Style' was won this year by 'Joya' for being the
only unchanged crew since the first SYS Odyssey six years ago, for ini-
tiating and organising the BBQ, and for producing relevant Sirmoor
related flag signals on their masthead every day to test the decoding
skills of the other crews.
ODE TO EAGEAN ODYSSEY VI
By SYS Rear Commodore Christopher Lavender
From Gatwick we flew
With skippers and crew
For sunshine and sailing
.........battle flags trailing.
All Greek in Kos - entry secured,
Then onto Vathi - Kalimnos fjord.
Tendelhos Straits -lunch and a swim,
So to Emborious - martini and gin
.
Katana and Bubbly to Lakki they sailed.
Intrepid remembered sailors regaled.
And then to Pandeli on Leros east shore,
Castles and gangplanks - crunchies and more.
Lispo called us from a sleepy old bay.
Bubbly taking a lengthy lay day.
Stropilopoulos helped us - at least to tie up,
And then to Calypso to revel and sup
21st parties from Tunbridge Wells belles,
Gillie delighted dancing with swells,
Kanenas became the red wine of choice
With bottles revolving and all in good voice,
