HONORARY SECRETARY'S NOTES
Introduction
The Sirmoor Club AGM
. The Sirmoor Club AGM was held in the
Army & Navy Club, London on 26 May 2012. The AGM was presided
over by Lieutenant General Sir Peter Duffell, chaired by Brigadier
Bruce Jackman and attended by fifty former officers. Following the
opening remarks by the President, Colonel Ian Rigden (Col BG) was
invited to summarise in seven minutes his highly informative 1½ hour
presentation given to the Chairman and Honorary Secretaries of all
Gurkha Regimental Associations. Colonel Ian’s outline is in ‘Service
News’ on page 47.
The agenda with detailed notes had been circulated by e-mail to all
members which allowed the meeting to focus on two key topics:
Items 1 – 3. The previous minutes, re-election of the
Committee and Sirmoor Accounts were all unanimously
agreed.
Item 4. Paper on the Sirmoor Club Finances, ‘
The Sirmooree,
Annual Reunion, Subscriptions and the Website’.
Following a lively debate, the AGM was closed at 1130, and members
were able to enjoy the Champagne Reception and Reunion Luncheon.
Minutes of the AGM are on the web site and copies are available
from the Hon Sec on application.

Reception to meet old chums before sitting down to an excellent lunch.
This was the largest turnout we have had for some years and there is
no doubt that a great party spirit was felt by all attending. As in
previous years, our tables were organised by
‘gallas’
, which may have

attitude that prevailed. Inevitably,
as the costs will show, we drank more champagne, more wine and
